Structural Design & Detailing
Whole-building structural design from concept sizing to GFC drawings, for RCC, structural steel and composite frames.
Structural design consultancy since 2018
Skyland Infrastructures is an infrastructure innovation practice in Jaipur. We give a building its structural concept, model and analyse it in current software, and detail it so it can be built economically — without trading away the safety or integrity of the frame.
Our philosophy
Our functional philosophy rests on responsibility towards the planet and its ecosystem — offering design solutions that are not only specific, but sensitive, thoughtful and humane.
A brief begins with the ecosystem the building sits in. Sustainable, multi-dimensional methodology is where the design starts here, not a feature bolted on once the frame is settled.
State-of-the-art modelling and analysis lets us find a structure that is efficient on material and light on the client’s pocket, with nothing traded against safety or integrity.
We explore new styles, techniques and strategies, and research sustainable methods, because the answer to an architectural challenge is rarely the one that worked last year.
The practice is built from qualified engineers who have worked on high-rise residential, hotels, commercial buildings, multiplexes, hospitals, institutional and industrial projects in India and abroad.
What we do
From the first structural concept to the last site instruction — and independent review when someone else holds the pen.
Whole-building structural design from concept sizing to GFC drawings, for RCC, structural steel and composite frames.
Vulnerability assessment and strengthening design for existing buildings, including work carried out while the building stays occupied.
Statutory and voluntary structural audits, non-destructive testing and repair specifications for ageing or distressed buildings.
Genuinely independent checking of another engineer's design, for lenders, insurers, authorities and owners who need certainty before committing.
Structural design of curtain walls, unitised systems and feature façades, including wind loading, movement and performance specification.
Foundation design, deep excavation support and soil-structure interaction for difficult ground, reclaimed land and constrained urban sites.
Selected work
Resorts, hotels, malls, restaurants, villas, apartments and public buildings — designed with the architects who brought us in.
CommercialThe largest building in the catalogue, and a long low range where the structure had to disappear behind arcades and domes.
HospitalityA hillside resort of pitched-roof cottages, planned around planted courtyards on a sloping Mount Abu site.
InfrastructureA high-security correctional facility in Assam, planned as a radial block inside a secure walled compound.
How we work
Five stages, each with a defined deliverable and a defined decision. You always know what you are approving.
We start from the architecture, the soil report, the regulatory envelope and the programme. Most of a project’s cost is committed at this stage, before a single member is sized.
A structural system proposed against the architect’s intent and compared on tonnage, floor-to-floor depth, speed and risk — so the choice is made with numbers in hand.
Full 3D modelling and analysis, code checks against the governing IS standards for the building, and an internal check by a second engineer before anything is issued.
Good-for-construction drawings, bar bending schedules, and the estimation and costing a contractor can actually price.
Stage inspections, shop-drawing review and project management consultancy through to completion.
Our vision
A living ecosystem where everything is reimagined around smart, green and futuristic ideas — and a practice efficient enough to make building it affordable.
Send us the drawings and the constraint you are stuck on, and we will tell you whether we are the right practice for it.
